Q: How many people does the house sleep?
A: The house sleeps up to 12 people.

 Q: What are the sleeping arrangements?
A:
The house has been designed to suite a family - or couples and families sharing. There are 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. 3 bedrooms have queen beds and the 4th bedroom has a double bunk bed (double on bottom, single on top) and a slide out single trundle bed. All 3 bathrooms are configured so that they can be used as ensuites. There are also two couches in the downstairs rumpus which fold out into double beds.

Q: Can we have more than 12 people stay per booking?
A:  We will consider more than 12 people staying only when families are staying and extra beds are required for children. Please speak to the booking agent in this situation. We restrict the numbers to preserve the peace and quiet of the area for our neighbours.

Q: What about the kids?
A: The house was designed to be child friendly. A high chair, bassinet, baby bath and portable cot are supplied - these are all stored in the downstairs cupboard under the internal stairs. This also includes a safety gate which can be easily installed at the top of the internal stairs. Toys, games, puzzles, books and dvd's are stored in the library unit upstairs. For older kids, the 4th bedroom downstairs has bunks with a safety rail and the rumpus room next door with TV and DVD player for entertainment.

Q: Is the pool safe for children?
A: The pool is a salt water 5m x 4m inground pool, with access from the internal deck only. It's
enclosed with a glass pool fence and saftey gate which locks, so is safe for kids. The gate is locked on arrival, please lock it on check out. There is a wide bench step running the length of the pool, children love to stand and wade along the step, and there are a variety of pool toys stored in the garage for your enjoyment, eg. pool noodles, toddlers fishing toys, water guns, blow up ring etc.

Q: What restaurants and shops are nearby?
A: Just a short stroll to the Smiths Lake village which has a butcher, baker, liquor store, small supermarket and take away food. Forster/Tuncurry is only a 20 min drive and offers a large a shopping centre, cinemas, restaurants, clubs, boat and fishing cruises. Q: What do I bring?
A: All beds are dressed on arrival with pillows & pillow slips, duvets & duvet covers and mattress protectors. you only need to bring sheets and towels (and full bedding for the cot or bassinet if you will be using them). This is included in our standard accommodation price. A full linen service can be provided at extra cost.

Linen packs include: All bedding, towels, hand towels, bath mat, face washers, tea towels and beds made up ready for your arrival.

There is a welcome pack in the kitchen with the basics for your first day,  toiletries for the bathrooms, spare toilet paper, dish wash liquid and tablet, wash cloth, garbage bin liner. Please bring kitchen T-towels.

Q: What about bookings for less than 7 nights?
A: Outside of peak holidays, or public holidays, the minimum stay is a 2 day weekend, or a 3 night mid week stay.

Q: Where can I park my car or boat ?
A
: Akama has a double garage and plenty of off-street parking for trailers/boats.

Q: What about winter ?
A
: The large Real Flame gas fireplace makes the house cozy and warm in winter, plus all bedrooms have portable oil heaters. All bathrooms have heated lights and heated towel rails for that extra bit of luxury.
